As if we needed another reason to love living here

The UAE has just secured the second place spot in the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) safest country in the world list. Falling just under Finland which topped the biennial Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report, we can now add another reason to our brimming list of why we love living here so much.

Taking into account, “the extent to which a country exposes tourists and businesses to security risks mainly related to serious harm to people (violence and terrorism),” other countries which featured at the top of the list included Oman coming in fourth and Qatar in tenth respectively.

Profiling 136 countries for the "safety and security" section of the list, what came as a huge surprise was how low the United Kingdom and the United States ranked, coming in 78th and 84th. Although when it came to the overall rankings for travel the UK held the fifth spot and the US sixth.

Coming in at the bottom of the list, taking into consideration that countries like Syria were not included on the list were Yemen, Pakistan, Nigeria and Colombia as last. So the next time you’re making travel plans it might be worth taking a look at the list below.
