World famous for our Fish & Chips, at Harry Ramsden we’re proud to be Britain’s longest established restaurant chain. Celebrating over 90 years in operation - we are now looking to increase our presence in the Middle East through franchising.

We are specifically looking to find Master Franchisees, Area/Country Developers, Multi-Unit franchisees. There are no single unit opportunities at this time.

Harry Ramsden appeals to Expatriates seeking authentic fish & chips, tourists looking for an iconic taste of Britain, and anyone who enjoys great quality casual dining fish & chips. Harry’s restaurants appeal particularly strongly to families.

Whilst the dish itself is popular across the Gulf region, featuring regularly on restaurant menus, there is no true specialist branded fish & chips proposition present.  With our contemporary new look and feel, and refreshed menu, we think there is real commercial opportunity to bring Harry Ramsden to the region.

Three distinct restaurant formats give the flexibility to trade in multiple locations.  The concept works well as a dine-in restaurant, but is also particularly strong in takeaway/grab&go and delivery scenarios.

Quick Service Restaurants 100-125m2

In addition to traditional shopping mall food courts, we see an opportunity for QSR outlets in the region’s large neighbourhood/community schemes, (e.g. Springs, Lakes, Ranches in Dubai), and in densely populated high rise residential areas, (e.g. JLT, Dubai Marina).  In these locations Harry’s can provide a good value meal replacement.  We would expect delivery to be a big component of sales mix.  KSA’s gated compound communities could also be a good opportunity. 

The QSR format can also be applicable in high traffic/tourism areas where space is at a premium, and/or where there is an opportunity to eat whilst walking/outdoors (e.g. Atlantis, Dubai; JBR Walk, La Mer, Dubai; Corniches in KSA, Doha, Muscat).

Assisted Service Restaurants 200-250m2

This format would sit well in casual dining food courts in the Regions’ more vibrant malls, and in casual dining districts/neighbourhood strip malls in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, KSA.  One of our most successful restaurants in the UK is within an Outlet Centre scheme, where locals and tourist alike enjoy the authentic Harry’s fish & chips experience.

Full Service Restaurants 250-500m2

This format serves our largest menu and offers a full service family dining experience.  Showcase locations are required and in high foot traffic spaces significant take away sales can also be achieved.  Our menu includes a breakfast, lunch and evening daypart choices, and the takeaway window also serves, ice-cream and hot beverages.

Suggested locations include:  UAE - La Mer, The Beach, JBR Walk, Dubai Mall fountains.  Kuwait - Avenues Mall, Gulf Road; Qatar -Doha Festival City, Villagio; KSA - Jeddah Corniche, Mecca, Mall of Arabia, Red Sea Mall.
